ASTT names award finalists

The finalists for the ASTT Awards have been named, with the winners to be revealed during No-Dig Down Under.

The biennial awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of the Australasian trenchless industry and will be presented across five categories.

The winners will be announced at No-Dig Down Under 2019’s Gala Dinner and Awards Evening on Thursday 12 September.

Tickets for the gala dinner, including tables of 10, are still available via the No-Dig Down Under website.

Rehabilitation Project of the Year

This award recognises innovation, advancements in technology, environmental benefits and occupational health and safety benefits in rehabilitation projects using trenchless technology.

The finalists for this award are:

New Installation Project of the Year

This award recognises innovation, advancements in technology, environmental benefits and occupational health and safety benefits in new installation projects using trenchless technology.

The finalists for this award are:

New Technology: Machine, Tool, Material, System or Technique

This award recognises the practical development of trenchless systems or equipment that result in benefits such as improved economy, accuracy, speed of drive or replacement, ability to overcome difficult installations, or similar.

The finalists for this award are:

  • Herrenknecht – Direct Pipe®
  • Interflow – bulk removal of silt and debris from large size sewers
  • Qenos – High Stress-Crack Resistant PE100.

ASTT Person of the Year

This award recognises an individual (aged 37 or over) who has made major and sustained contributions to the trenchless industry.

The winner will have gone above and beyond the call of duty to grow, develop and promote the use of trenchless technology across Australasia and the world.

The finalists for this award are:

  • David Turner, National Business Development Manager, Maxibor Australia
  • Geoff Weaver, Managing Director, Interflow
  • Namejs Kins, Head of Procurement, Unitywater
  • Stephen Fanning, Technical Sales Manager, RSM Lining Supplies.

ASTT Young Person of the Year

This award recognises the important role younger members (aged 36 or under) of the Australasian trenchless community play in the growth of the industry by engaging and promoting the technology, making significant contributions over the past two years.
