DBYD’s ‘Referral Service of the Future’ progress

The progression of DBYD’s Referral Service of the Future, a major strategic initiative, has been in action since the beginning of 2018.

The aim is to develop an improved service that includes providing an integration of information and tools through DBYD’s digital community.

The current referral service has already protected more than AU$340 billion of infrastructure covering more than 740,000 km, however the new service aims to advance to the organisations goal of “zero harm and zero damage”.

In July 2018, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu was engaged to work with DBYD’s state and national boards and representatives to develop a roadmap for the service.

By 2019, the service went to market seeking expressions of interest for the supply of a digital platform and supporting suite of services, in which successful shortlisted vendors will be invited to respond to a request for tender this September.

DYBD also engaged with a range of stakeholders to gather feedback on the proposed future of the service in order to plan, adapt and revise accordingly.

By July 2020 suppliers for the platform and suite of supporting services will be in place, after which designing, implantation and testing will occur for over 12 months.

The new DBYD referral service aims to be live by 1 July 2021.
