Trenchless traineeship facility improves

In October 2018, One Step Further enrolled its first student in the Certificate III in Trenchless Technology (Traineeship) qualification while continuing construction on its training facility.

The facility, which is based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, now has two fully operational horizontal directional drilling (HDD) rigs and a mud recycler set up to facilitate students’ studies.

Traineeship students will have access to train and learn on the machines, including operating a rig that weighs more than 45,000 kg and has never been available to the industry in Australia before.

One Step Further, in partnership with Trenchless Training, developed the qualification to assist individuals in the trenchless and HDD industries to develop sustainable career pathways.

The training facility will be attended by traineeship students as well as used for HDD and civic construction courses that One Step Further plans to run.
