Major water project starts up in NZ

Bothar Boring & Tunnelling

The 10-year work program will build NZ’s biggest city’s water infrastructure through an emphasis on collaboration.

A Fletcher Construction company, Fletcher Water – which brings together the best expertise from Brian Perry Civil, PipeWorks NZ and Higgins – will work closely with Watercare and Fulton Hogan to strengthen the connections between businesses.

The contract comes as Watercare set a challenge through a new enterprise model to unlock more value for New Zealanders: Watercare’s 40:20:20 vision.

The vision aims to reduce its infrastructure by 40 per cent, cost by 20 per cent and have a 20 per cent annual improvement on health and safety outcomes; Watercare’s goal is to deliver water infrastructure in a smarter way both now and in the future.

All partners involved in the new 10-year project will partake in a collaborative model of planning, construction and design that is based on safety and sustainability.
