Bamser completes HDD in QLD

The City of Gold Coast has been working on its Gold Coast Long Term Water Release Project, which included a HDD in rock geology, with John Holland as the main contractor.

With a specialisation in providing experienced, targeted advisory services to complex trenchless projects, Bamser has been working alongside John Holland for the last 18 months to ensure the successful installation of the outer diameter 1200 mm HDPE pipe under the Nerang River in Southport.

By using HDD techniques, the installation was successfully completed with a pull back of the pipe into a 59 inch (1499 mm) borehole over 900 m.

Bamser has supported John Holland throughout the project with the provision of a specialist HDD supervisor onsite, in addition to technical assistance from its Brisbane office when required.

The company says it is proud to be associated with this iconic HDD project on the Gold Coast.
