Mr Smith has been acting in the role since March this year and will now officially continue to lead the development of the company’s business strategies.
City West Water Managing Director Maree Lang said the appointment highlighted CWW’s ongoing commitment to developing its exceptional talent.
“We have outstanding people on our executive team, and I congratulate Richard on his permanent appointment as General Manager of Strategy and Planning,” said Ms Lang.
“This role includes delivering on a range of business plans, identifying and implementing innovative solutions to customer problems, and effectively communicating and engaging with our customers and community.”
Mr Smith has worked on various roles since joining the company in 2012, including significant involvement in leading the 2018 Price Submission and being involved in many cross-sector collaborations and long-term planning for Melbourne’s west.
