Mr Gardiner has worked in the development of leading civil construction materials, with a broad technical knowledge in concrete durability, materials selection and concrete mix designs in all types of exposure conditions.
He has developed concrete mixes for tunnel boring machine precast segments, high rise slip forms, early strength used in post tensioning and high long-term strength used in foundations and columns.
Currently engaged as a member of the Owners Engineer Team on Snowy 2.0, Mr Gardiner has written several durability plans for major projects and is a subject matter expert for both road and water authorities in Australia.
“I am very privileged to have worked for SMEC for almost 12 years and to provide support to our clients with the best material solutions on their civil infrastructure and asset management projects,” he said.
SMEC said the “well-deserved achievement” was in recognition of Mr Gardiner’s continuous support and expert advice on new or existing civil structures on the company’s projects.
