Water New Zealand appoints new President

Bothar Boring & Tunnelling

Ms Atkins will replace Kelvin Hill who has held the position for the past two years.

An environmental and public lawyer, Ms Atkins has been a board member of Water New Zealand for the past six years and has also provided legal comment and advice for its publications for many years.

Ms Atkins has spent the past year preparing to take up the new leadership position and said she’s looking forward to taking on this role at a time when the reforms provide a real opportunity for the sector, and expects new legislation and the Water Services Bill will be a dominant presence throughout her presidency.

“We would like to thank Kelvin Hill and retiring board member John Mackie for their contribution to Water New Zealand and the water sector during their time on the board,” said Water New Zealand.

Water New Zealand also announced and congratulated its two new board members, being Dr Deborah Lind and Tim Gibson.

The finalisation of the new board will be confirmed in early October.
