The company said the plan formalises its commitment to continuing building strong, respectful and mutually beneficial relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
McConnell Dowell shared a video of the plan on social media, and said the company is proud of its 60-year history of working with and within Indigenous communities.
“We recognise that we need to do more, in a very deliberate, planned and structured way,” the company said.
“Today, we have formalised our commitment to building strong, respectful and mutually beneficial relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples by launching our Reconciliation Action Plan.
“The plans and programs we have set ourselves in this plan will establish a stronger foundation of understanding and awareness and set us on a course of continued growth through knowledge and diversity.
“We’ll continue to harness the unique life experiences, skills and perspectives of Australia’s First Peoples, and together, we’ll strive to create a more inclusive and sustainable company and country.”
