March Cato completes NZ cut-in

The new spool was cut-in to the existing 1,254 mm Waikato No.1 over the Christmas holidays, March Cato said in a social media post.

The work was undertaken as part of the Waikato 50 project in Tuakau, near Auckland, where March Cato is assisting with a new water treatment plant that will support Auckland’s drinking water requirements.

“It was fantastic to work alongside some great engineers and leaders at Fletcher/BPC, BECA and of course Watercare,” the company said.

“This critical piece of works demonstrates the amazing things we can achieve through careful, thorough and detailed planning.”

March Cato said it looks forward to returning to site in 2021 help backfill the hole made late last year.
