Major works are continuing at the Metro Tunnel Project’s Arden Station, including tunnelling support and the operation of the slurry and water treatment plants.
The Arden Station site will provide tunnel boring machine (TBM) and tunnelling support for the duration of the project’s tunnelling operations in Melbourne’s CBD, which involve the delivery of tunnel lining segments, operation of the slurry and water treatment plants and the transportation of excavated material.
Works are scheduled to continue throughout February and March, with some sections requiring continuous 24 hours of works.
Metro Tunnel reported earlier this month that both project TBMs were now tunnelling to the CBD after launching from the Anzac Station site in late January.
Tunnelling support at Arden Station is anticipated to continue until mid-2021.
