Unitywater partners with PIPE AI

The partnership will see Unitywater leverage artificial intelligence for its asset management.

PIPE AI technology removes the need for human checking and reviewing of CCTV footage, allowing organisations to maintain their infrastructure up to the required standards, optimise pipe maintenance schedules and reduce inspection costs while transferring and upskilling their employees to higher value jobs.

Unitywater said its partnership with the company will see it use machine learning to assess the condition of sewerage, water and stormwater pipes.

“Automation is the way of the future and we believe PIPE AI is going to play a significant role in the future of asset management,” said Unitywater CEO George Theo.

Unitywater owns 17 sewage treatment plants cross the Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa regions and provides water supply and sewerage services to approximately 16 per cent of Queensland’s population.
