Quinns Mindarie Surf Club systems upgrade

Quinns Mindarie surf club after systems upgrades

Carried out by Water Corporation, the retrofit follows a recent project to upgrade 1.4 km of wastewater pipeline along Rochester Drive, Fairport Vista, and Rosslare Promenade in Mindarie.

Water Corporation General Manager Customer and Community Karen Willis said the upgrade was a way of giving back to the community following the works.

“The Mindarie community has been very understanding and patient as we’ve upgraded critical wastewater infrastructure in the area,” Willis said.

Installation and testing of the pipeline was completed earlier this year, with recent upgrades to the Rosslare Promenade pump station now also complete.

Boring experts Rob Carr were contracted for the pipeline installation.

Quinns Mindarie Surf Life Saving Club President Nathaniel Lee said he was pleased the water-wise retrofit had been completed in time for the busy summer season.

“As a not-for-profit sporting club, anything we can do to help save money – while using less water in the process – is a great thing,” said Lee.

As the town’s water supply continues to be impacted by the effects of climate change, Lee said there was never a more important time for a water-wise upgrade to the surf club.
