Hychem acquires QuakeWrap

Hychem, QuakeWrap

Australian owned and operated Hychem has acquired QuakeWrap Australia – an innovative designer and supplier of fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) products.

The acquisition allows Hychem to transition into a full-service business, supplying a complete, end-to-end system of products for the repair and strengthening of infrastructure.

QuakeWrap supplies bespoke engineering systems for the repair and strengthening of structures, and the company has numerous patents under its name.

The PileMedic, for example, is one solution for the repair of deteriorated piles, while the SuperLaminate has been developed for spot repair of pressure pipes.

The existing synergies between both companies means the new entity is able to cater for the remediation of existing infrastructure.

The company will combine Hychem’s existing grout and epoxy solutions with QuakeWrap’s bespoke engineered products to provide clients with a wider range of offerings and solutions.

QuakeWrap general manager Tony White said the company was pleased with the acquisition, and thanked Hychem for its belief in the company.

“We were lucky enough that Hychem’s vision and our vision were aligned from the beginning,” said White.

“The complementary nature of our products meant that we could place those systems within Hychem’s existing range in order to achieve growth and expansion.”

Hychem managing director Ludvik Kovacic said that by taking QuakeWrap onboard, Hychem has been able to disseminate its product information to a wider market.

“We have seen this as a great opportunity to grow our business. We are currently employing more people and opening up new offices and warehouses interstate. We are investing in people, materials and really getting behind what we offer.”
