The power of Picote Solutions tools and equipment

Pipe Core is now an official reseller of Picote Solutions’ equipment after demonstrated success on difficult jobs around the world.

Picote Solutions’ tools and equipment were recently put to the test at a busy urban site in the United Kingdom where they successfully made a difficult task, possible.

With offices in Finland, USA and UK, Picote Solutions is known all over the world as an innovative manufacturer of quality pipe cleaning and rehabilitation machines and equipment.

Some of Picote’s most impressive products tackled a job for Thames Water with head contractor Lanes for Drains.

With difficult conditions and limited access due to ongoing construction works, the task was to mill out 22 m of hard cementitious compound from a DN150 clay pipe.

Previously, around 0.5 m of cementitious compound was being removed per day, using super high-pressure water jetting.

A 7.5T Jetvac unit had also been deployed twice daily over a prolonged period to prevent flooding; however, this was not enough.

With associated costs and disruption mounting, the portability of Picote Solutions equipment and their technical consulting support enabled the contractor to set to work on the pipe via the accessible manholes located 27 m apart.

From Picote’s extensive portfolio of equipment, the Maxi Miller Power+ (18mm shaft) powered by a Picote Generator (12kVA) in combination with a Maxi Miller Plus (12 mm shaft) were perfect for the task.

These machines are capable of outstanding high-speed cleaning, descaling, root cutting, blockage removal, concrete removal and more.

To partner the Millers, the Tiger Drill Chain (12mm), Tiger Twister Concrete & Liner Remover (12mm), and Twister Concrete Remover+ (18mm) were chosen to undertake the project.

With unique features, these heavy-duty speciality tools were able to power through the rock and concrete at a far greater rate than previously achieved with HPWJ alone.

With a new removal rate that varied between 0.5 to 1.5 m per hour, per unit, depending on the consistency and hardness of the cementitious material, 22 m of pipe was successfully milled in only three days with no remedial works on the clay pipe required.

By moving to Picote’s equipment and tools, the power, efficiency, and versatility of these products was unequivocally demonstrated.

The demonstrated performance of Picote equipment and tools is just one of the many reasons Pipe Core is now an official reseller, ensuring our customers in Australia and New Zealand have the right tools for any job.
