Vic Water Awards win for Interflow and GWMWater

Interflow at Mt Cole

Collaboration on the design and construction of the record-breaking Mt Cole pipeline renewal landed Interflow and GWMWater the award for Infrastructure Project Innovation (Regional) at the AWA VIC Water Awards.

Interflow used Primus Line – a high-pressure, flexible liner – to line the 1.4 km pipe in what was the longest single pull for the company in Australia and New Zealand.

GWMWater managing director Mark William said that the terrain surrounding the pipe made the work harder.

“The pipeline’s rugged location posed many challenges for the project as vehicle access was only possible at the top and bottom of the line. Some parts of the terrain were so remote that equipment needed to be helicoptered in,” he said.

The rehabilitated pipeline will deliver up to half of Ararat’s raw water supply from the Mt Cole reservoir.

The upgrade forms part of the East Grampians rural supply water project.
