Interflow adds 50 years to assets in Marrickville

Interflow has been engaged by Sydney Water to rehabilitate central and northern rising mains using DN500 Primus Line solution in Marrickville.

Primus Line was installed from the sewer pumping station to the discharge points near Illawarra Road.

Interflow’s team overcame a series of challenges of the project.

Notably, both of the existing rising mains required extensive cleaning and grinding works, while the crew were only able to access the line from a a limited number of viable access points.

The alignment also included a series of both vertical and horizontal bends.

Liner was winched through the line before being inflated and then installed with end connectors. Finally, the line was pressure tested before repeating the process at the next section.

Interflow recently won an award for the Mt Cole Pipeline renewal project which also used the Primus Line.

Completion of the work has added at least 50 years to the service life of both rising mains, once again showing how Interflow is supporting operators across the industry.
