The Goulburn Mulwaree Council completed a main upgrade earlier in February, following the construction of a water main beneath Bradley Street late 2022.
The Council has confirmed its commitment to improving the water quality in the area – replacing ageing pipes to ensure water quality to Goulburn and surrounds.
According to the site supervisor Tim Maher, the water main upgrade required teams to complete a 30 m tunnel bore to lay high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe beneath Bradley Street, which they were able to connect to other pipe sections that had been laid via trenching methods.
Construction of the water main in October was initially scheduled for a three-week construction period.
February works required affected residents to store water for domestic needs for two days, as the works required that the domestic water supply be temporarily disrupted.
