Sewer outfall project tackled by veteran tunnelling team

Adept and Pezzimenti completed the 3-drive sewer outfall project in Sunbury.

Adept Civil and Pezzimenti Trenchless have teamed up to successfully deliver the Everley Estate Sunbury sewer outfall project in Victoria.

The final 1-metre diameter tunnel was been completed in late February – the last of three 110 m tunnelling drives required for the sewer outfall project.

Adept drew on its 25 year professional relationship with Pezzimenti Trenchless in order to tackle to project, which involved boring through some extremely difficult ground conditions.

Adept’s construction of the 14 metre deep launch shaft was instrumental to the successful completion of the tunnelling drive.

Adept has also been chosen to execute tunnelling on a major watermain infrastructure project, due to be completed in May.

Anthony Panozzo, Adept’s Company Director, said he was both proud and grateful of both company’s teams on the project and congratulated Pezzimenti on completing the challenging tunnelling project.

“These kinds of projects take an enormous amount of planning and focus around safety, due to the significance of the depths our teams are working at, something we are again very proud of and focused on each and everyday,” he said.

In response to Adept’s announcement on Linkedin, Joe Pezzimenti – Director of Pezzimenti Trenchless – said he was thrilled with the company’s combined efforts and applauded Adept’s safety-first approach to the work.
