Learn about rehabilitation at No-Dig Down Under

Pipe rehabilitation will be a key theme at this year’s No-Dig Down Under event, set to take on September 13-14 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Across this year’s No-Dig Down Under event, rehabilitation will be one of three crucial themes guiding the conference program, with many presentations covering important facets of the topic.

Learn more about a few sessions covering pipe rehabilitation across the conference below.

September 13

On day one, the first rehabilitation presentation, led by Queen’s University Professor Ian Moore, will cover the impact of ground movements on close-fitting liners across joints and ring fractures.

Following this, Matthias Peppel from Trelleborg will lead an insightful presentation about innovations in sewer lateral and small diameter rehabilitation and how this method has evolved over the last 25 years.

After lunch, the second session will include presentations from SAERTEX and Impreg Australia covering successful rehabilitation projects using their products.

In the afternoon, Jacobs senior civil engineer Paul Luscombe will discuss a sewer rehabilitation project in Columbia and the challenges of rehabilitating in difficult conditions.

Following this, Picote Solutions director of technical client services Richard David Swan will lead an engaging presentation on the Picote Flexi Sliplining System and how it is an economical method for the relining of gravity sewers.

September 14

On day two of the conference, the rehabilitation presentations will kick off with a detailed look into lateral deformation and how it affects pipeline repair systems, led by University of Southern Queensland student Shanika Kiriella.

Then, Interflow national product manager Will Zillmann will discuss how to build resilience in wastewater networks through recommissioning of unused assets.

Following morning tea, Aqua Metro, Nukote Coating Systems and Jacobs will lead presentations covering projects and the future of trenchless technology.

After lunch, Interflow will discuss their work at the Penrith Recycling Plant, followed by a presentation detailing aging tanks and their value, led by Jacobs senior associate civil & water engineer Matthew Tooley.

In the final session, Interflow business development manager Steve Latimer will lead discussion on Queensland’s Eagle Farm pump station rehabilitation journey, followed by a presentation on an overview of design methods for sprayed liners, led by Professor Moore.
