Mastering underground works

Ed Zublin

Ed. Züblin AG Singapore draws on over a century of engineering heritage and industry experience in the design, production, and installation of reinforced concrete jacking pipes.

The company specialises in microtunnelling and pipe jacking techniques. This extensive specialised expertise has been channelled exclusively into Asia, where Züblin’s own state-of-the-art precast pipe production factory is in Kota Tinggi, Malaysia, alongside the division’s headquarters in Singapore.

Over the past 26 years, Ed. Züblin AG Singapore has worked with many clients across industries to deliver the best tunnelling solutions.

The company’s extensive specialist expertise gained over the years has been applied in the Asian market, Europe, and many other countries world-wide.

Among the bigger projects of the company are the Deep Tunnel Sewerage Systems project contract T-06 (DTSS Phase 1) and contract T-07 (DTSS Phase 2) in Singapore, as well as the Stratregic Tunnel Enhancement Program (STEP) contract LS-01 and Contract LS-02 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The company has also successfully completed multi-million-dollar international projects in Abu Dhabi, Russia, India, Thailand, Vietnam, and Australia, where the company completed the Southern Seawater Alliance desalination plant in Perth.

In total, Züblin has completed over 370km of tunnel construction in worldwide.

The use of micro tunnel boring machines (MTBM) to excavate the ground also provides the advantage of reducing the required number of workers in confined space, providing a far greater level of control over the rate of excavation and a more precise management of different ground conditions.

Few industries have a greater responsibility to find solutions for climate-neutral, socially responsible, and environmentally friendly business practices than the construction industry. And STRABAG – ZUBLIN sees it as its duty to honour this responsibility – for its employees, for society and, above all, for future generations.

The company has positioned itself as one of the biggest levers for a better future. And if it moves this lever, a lot will change. STRABAG – ZUBLIN will reimagine the construction industry. Züblin’s most important goal is to become climate neutral by 2040.

It is a process that requires technologies, some of which it must – and will – develop before it can begin. Züblin said it needs new ways of working, ways that conserve resources and make it less dependent on fossil energy. The company has said it will need to walk this path together from this moment on. For it common mission: Work on progress.
