Join a group of experts and industry leaders for an evening of knowledge sharing, Q&A and networking at the Quinns Main Sewer Extension and Associated Works event on 20 February 2025.
The Australian Tunnelling Society, Australian Geomechanics Society, Australian Society of Trenchless Technology and Institution of Civil Engineers will be in attendance to celebrate and discuss the Quinns main sewer extension and associated work, which recently earned the 2024 CCF WA Earth Award for projects valued between $30-75 million.
The project’s design and construction included 1.8km of tunnelling, featuring a particularly challenging 500m curved drive beneath both a freeway and a railway. The project also involved shafts reaching depths of up to 27m and the integration of two vortex structures, showcasing exceptional engineering precision.
The project requires effective stakeholder management, including coordination with schools, residents, and multiple government bodies to minimise impact on the community foster positive relations.
The project involved diligently managing risks for the team, public and the national park, prioritising safety and environmental stewardship.
Guests will have the pleasure of hearing from speaker Andrew Young, General Manager at Rob Carr, who has over 25 years’ experience in civil engineering relating to the planning, design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure.
The event will be held at 5.30pm on Thursday, 20 February 2025 at the State Library of Western Australia.
From 5.30pm – 6pm, attendees will have an opportunity to network and enjoy refreshments, before the presentation begins at 6pm and networking and refreshments resume at 7pm.
