• Design and approvals: Undertake service locating, surveys, and prepare design and As-Constructed drawings; obtain all necessary permits, including rail design approvals.
• Site establishment and safety: Set up traffic and pedestrian management (signage, lights, barricades) and implement sediment and erosion control measures.
• Excavation and preparation: Excavate work areas, dewater trenches and mains, and shore trenches as required to safely access existing infrastructure.
• Installation works: Supply all materials and labour; install new water mains, bends, fittings, and thrust blocks in accordance with AS/NZS Standards.
• Connections and commissioning: Connect to existing mains and services, disinfect and test the new mains, and manage any unplanned service interruptions.
• Site restoration and notifications: Backfill and compact excavated areas, reinstate surfaces, remove redundant assets, dispose of overburden, and deliver notices to affected properties.

The intent of the rehabilitation is to replace the pipeline’s structural integrity, prevent infiltration and exfiltration, increase the useful life and level of service for the asset.

This project proposes several water supply improvements works within the Bellarine and comprises of the following works:

• Queenscliff transfer main replacement sections from the Bellarine Basin to the Queenscliff Basin.

• Replacement of nine sections of existing feeder between Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale.

• New feeder main water supply connection between St. Leonards and Indented Head.

Barwon Water will seek suitably qualified and experienced contractors to form a Panel for the following categories:

• Sewer Services – involves the repair or replacement of the existing house connection points, installation of a new house connection points, line clearing and Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) provisions of rehabilitation methods, installation of Maintenance Shafts or Terminal Maintenance Shafts.

• Water Services – involves general plumbing services, repairs or servicing pipes (excluding Fire Services) replacement of the 20 & 25mm pipe, servicing backflow prevention devices, the replacement of faulty tapping saddles on the water main, installation of stop taps, installation/upgrading and raising meter installations.

• Tapping Services – is a specialised category. Contractors shall provide tapping provisions for Water or Fire Services. Tapping sizes range from 50mm to 225mm (DN size 100mm-600mm).

• Dual Pipe Services – means the installation of meters where dual pipe infrastructure has been installed by a Developer comprising of both drinking water and recycling water reticulation mains. The locations of dual pipe are in Armstrong Creek, Charlemont, Mount Duneed and Torquay North.
