Kaiser AG has acquired outright ownership of Whale Tankers Ltd it has announced.
A major manufacturer in the industrial waste management sector, Kaiser AG will broaden its international footprint with the strategic move, having acquired 100 per cent of the UK-based Whale Tankers, a manufacturer in its own right that boasts operations inside India.
The integration of Whale Tankers into the Kaiser Group involves an additional 600 employees worldwide.
Some 330 team members will be added to its Solihull site near Birmingham, UK, with a further 300 set to be deployed in Coimbatore, India.
The acquisition reportedly marks an important milestone in Kaiser’s long-term growth strategy as it looks to reinforce its global presence across Europe, the USA, Middle East, Australia and Asia.
The two entities are already well known to each other having working closely for many years boasting, what is considered, complementary product portfolios.
Both companies share strong regional roots, close customer relationships and a clear focus on engineering excellence.
Highly regarded in the UK market, Whale Tankers has successfully established a sourcing, production and engineering strategy in India.
In recent years, the company has shown impressive growth and cultural alignment with Kaiser, particularly with regard to “entrepreneurial spirit, quality standards and sustainable development” per a media release issued by the company.
Kaiser, a family-owned business, views the acquisition as a long-term commitment to the locations and teams in the UK and India.
Both sites will be further developed and strengthened as part of the group’s international production and engineering network.
“Growth only creates value in our industry if people and regional strengths remain at the centre,” Markus Kaiser, CEO and owner Kaiser Group, explains.
“This acquisition is about reinforcing local entrepreneurship while unlocking global opportunities.”
For Kaiser the integration of Whale Tankers will help it to form one of the most technologically advanced product portfolios in sewer cleaning vehicles, what’s more, without compromising what it calls ”regional proximity to customers“.
“The combined portfolio strengthens the entire Kaiser Group and generates new opportunities for all our locations and teams across Europe, the USA and Australia,” said Markus Kaiser.
In an increasingly volatile geopolitical environment, the acquisition will likely enhance the group’s resilience by further diversifying production capabilities, supply chains and regional market access especially in a highly specialised and globally fragmented niche market.
