KOR Equipment Solutions unveils new site in SE QLD

KOR's new facility in Southeast Queensland.

KOR Equipment Solutions has officially opened its new facility in southeast Queensland.

Situated in Luscombe’s new industrial precinct, the 2,700m² site features a 1380m² clear span workshop and warehouse, 320m² new offices, and a 1100m² large hardstand area for heavy vehicle and car parking.

Just ten minutes from KOR’s previous location in Yatala, where the state branch was situated for the past six years, the Luscombe facility is also near a key corridor for customers and boasts close proximity to the M1 freeway.

The official opening was marked by a plaque unveiling with Edoardo Marcon, Managing Director of Cappellotto, and Andy Kimpton, CEO of KOR Equipment Solutions both in attendance.

“It’s more appropriate for what we do, being under one single roof,” Kimpton told Trenchless Australasia.

“Customers will now have easier access to parts, servicing and the warehouse which will increase their productivity and reduce downtime.”

“The property in Yatala was a divided building limiting flexibility and activity. At the new location everything is consolidated under the one roof.”

The brand-new build is in a new industrial area on a single secure site with monitored by alarms and CCTV.

According to the supplier of high-performance industrial equipment, the expansion will provide it with crucial extra space and enhanced capabilities to serve its Queensland customers more efficiently.

Warehouse storage capacity, notably, is almost triple the previous site.

While service bays have been increased to six.

The Luscombe site also features a significantly improved training facility to support KOR’s academy.

KOR has deployed a second mobile service van at the new site and, as part of its expansion and the state’s investment in infrastructure programs, will launch one in Townsville in the coming weeks where, at present, it is actively recruiting for technicians.

Newcastle is the most recent city in which KOR has rolled out a new mobile service van and technician.

Once initial scale is achieved in a new location the next move is to find a facility and continue to grow it organically.

“Our organic growth is based on on testing our suite of services across the regions, looking at our pin drops where all our units are,” said Kimpton.

“We have guys doing services in Gladstone this week.”

Kimpton anticipates the business will have its 1000th Cappellotto vacuum unit and 100th Schwarze sweeper on road inside the calendar year.
