New product alert – The eSTEAM Smoke Generator

Out of the Netherlands, ROM bv has developed a portable and easy to manourver smoke machine that allows operators to easily detect leakages in pipes, tanks and roofs and solve stench problems without excavation and demolition work.

Although the method of smoke testing has been around for decades to help identify breaks, defects and reduce flow and infiltration, the technology around source detection has come a long way.

The eSTEAM is a multi-purpose product, capable of locating tears and holes in the main sewer system, obtaining information about the sewer pipe’s course, detecting illegal connections to municipal sewer, monitoring dry sprinkler lines, air flows in ventilation/air ducts and vents and checking the sealing of chimneys and roofs.

The eSTEAM smoke machine is very easy to use, allowing operators to work faster thanks to the very short warm-up time and automated start-up shutdown procedure.

“By placing the hose of the smoke machine in a man-hole outside a building, and letting the smoke run through the sewage system or rainwater discharge pipe, opeartors are easily able to identify breaks and defects if smoke comes through the wrong start or end point,” Pipe Core drain cleaning specialist Josh Gosling said.
