No-Dig Down Under

No-Dig Down Under will be held 3-6 October at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. There will be a diverse program with a range of speakers covering projects, technology, the latest developments, policy and more. Delegates are guaranteed to benefit from attending the conference.

Building on the successful and highly enjoyable event in Melbourne in 2009 and Trenchless Live 2010 held in Coffs Harbour, the great benefit of an event like this is the way it brings the entire trenchless industry together in one place. Owners and utilities, contractors and suppliers are able to network, co-operate for the future of the industry and exchange the latest information.

The trenchless industry’s leading companies have already come on board to sponsor the event. Their generous support is what makes this event possible, and helps to keep costs low.

There are still a few select sponsorship opportunities available. Contact Great Southern Press today if you are interested in taking part.

The exhibition will feature more than 50 individual companies from all areas of the industry including contractors and equipment providers in areas such as HDD, tunnelling, relining, pipe bursting, concrete and plastic pipe manufacturers and consultants.

A very limited number of exhibition booths are still available – contact Great Southern Press immediately to book your space.

Keynote Breakfast Session in the Exhibition Hall

An innovation in this year’s program is the free keynote breakfast session that will be held in the Exhibition Hall for all delegates and trade visitors.

The topic of this year’s keynote breakfast session will be the installation of the National Broadband Network. Come along and enjoy breakfast while learning about the opportunities for the trenchless industry.

Super Panel

Installation and Rehabilitation

In 2011 the conference will feature two Super Panels of trenchless experts to answer your questions.

The Installation Super Panel will be made up of trenchless experts in areas including tunnelling, HDD, asset management. The Rehabilitation Super Panel will feature experts in relining techniques, condition assessment and more.

The experts will engage the audience in a lively discussion of the relative benefits of different techniques offering solutions for the installation and rehabilitation of underground infrastructure.

Asset Management Forum

Calling all utility and council professionals! The Asset Management Forum, featuring a keynote speaker, panel session and workshop, is a must-attend of the conference. The maintenance and installation of underground assets is an important issue facing all councils and utilities across Australia and New Zealand.

Trenchless Technology and the Queensland floods

Paul Belz General Manager Planning, Queensland Urban Utilities and also QUU Manager of the Emergency Management Team will present a session about the response and lessons learnt from the impact that the Queensland floods had on the water and wastewater systems in South East Queensland.

The best of the best – ASTT Awards

Nominations for the annual ASTT awards, which recognise excellence in the trenchless industry, will close 15 August – make sure not to miss the opportunity to recognise leaders in our industry.

The awards will be presented to the winners at the Gala Dinner.

There are four categories:

  • Project of the Year – New Installation
  • Project of the Year – Rehabilitation
  • Person of the Year
  • Young Person of the Year

Project criteria

You may nominate a project that you have been involved in or any other project you are aware of provided it has been completed in Australasia. Please give a physical description of the project, the location, the owner, engineer, contractor, and date completed, as well as a description of why the project is being nominated.

Projects will be judged on; innovation in concept, novelty of technology, environmental benefit, and occupational health and safety benefit, as well as overall presentation.

Projects of the year will be automatically nominated for the ISTT Awards, which will be presented at the Rio International No-Dig 2012.

Person of the Year

You can nominate an individual who has made major and sustained contributions to the trenchless industry in any area of activity within the industry. The Award recognises a contribution over and above the call of duty. It does not recognise contributions to a specific company; rather to the whole industry.

Young Person of the Year

This award also recognises major contributions to the industry, but the nominee must be under 40 as at 3 October 2011.

Entries should be no more than 800 words, excluding any images or appendices, and presented in word or PDF format. Don’t forget to provide your own details. You may be contacted if more information is needed to process the nomination.
