A brief history

Cromford Pty Ltd was established in 1978 and pioneered the production of polyethylene blown film for use in the building and agricultural industries. In 1984, Cromford introduced polyethylene dampcourse to the bricklaying market.

Cromford Pipe, formerly Australian Film and Pipe Manufacturers (AFP), began operations in 1979. AFP PVC and HDPE pipe for water, gas, electrical, stormwater and drainage applications. In 2007 AFP was sold to Cromford Pty Ltd, both entities then owned by Souls Private Equity Limited (SPEL).

Since 2007 Cromford Group Pty Ltd has earned recognition as a manufacturer and supplier of quality film and pipe products for projects of all scale and size. The company has grown its reputation on the basis of quality and service.

In 2009, Cromford Group undertook a rebranding of business units. The renamed entity, Cromford Group Pty Ltd, carries the quality and heritage of Cromford Pty Ltd, with a focus on product, service and sustainability. The new Cromford Group has three discreet business entities – Cromford Film, Cromford Pipe and Cromford Recycle. Cromford is proudly Australian-owned.

Cromford Pipe

Cromford Pipe manufactures and distributes a comprehensive range of plastic pipes and fittings for the plumbing, gas, water supply, sewer, drainage, irrigation, mining, energy, telecommunications and electrical industries.

The Cromford Pipe product range includes PE, PCV and PPP pipes and matching accessories from a centrally located manufacturing plant in Moss Vale, NSW. The company meets both ongoing distribution channel needs and larger-scale project requirements using efficient manufacturing and distribution systems. Cromford Pipe’s size enables production flexibility and ensures a “÷one-stop’ approach that is responsive to customer needs.

The company produces quality products manufactured to stringent specifications and standards, achieving the ISO 9001 certification in September 2010 as well as holding the Standards Australia Watermark certification and Water Services Association of Australia endorsement. Cromford Pipe has also been awarded approval by the Australian Gas Association, City West Water, RTA, SA Water and Yarra Valley Water.
