The finalisation of these major projects has seen the commencement of others in the approval/planning phase and these may again need trenchless support.
These major projects are the second Toowoomba Range Crossing, Adarni and the Arrow Bowen Gas Projects (upstream and midstream). The water industry has witnessed further activity with Queensland Urban Utilities (QUU), Unitywater, Townsville City Council, Bundaberg Regional Council, Cairns Regional Council and Seqwater all planning or commencing work on projects requiring trenchless input in the form of relining, inspection, maintenance, augmentation and new infrastructure where open excavation has been ruled out due to site constraints and method feasibility.
Unitywater held their annual industry briefing and it was well attended by contractors, consultants and suppliers. The briefing discussed their capital investment plan for the next fiscal year and the forecasted activity for the next five years.
This is a good initiative by Unitywater, offering a mutual benefit to themselves and to companies offering services and supplies. This initiative is encouraged by the ASTT and we highly suggest other organisations with large capital investment plans to adopt a similar approach in order to receive a mutual benefit.
QUEENSLAND TRENCHLESS PRESENTATION NIGHTS
